Times of the Gentiles
And saw heaven opened, and a
certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit
at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Acts 10:11
And they of the circumcision which
believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on
the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:45
When they heard these things, they
held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the
Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Acts 11:18
Andy Hunt as posted on Five Doves, (7/22/06), has researched the
beginning of the times of the Gentiles when God first brought the
Gospel to the Gentiles through Peter as being 44 AD. Adding
2000
360-day years to this (1971 solar years) and one arrives at 2015 AD for
the ending of the times of the Gentiles. It makes the most sense
that
the times of the Gentiles would not end until Jesus Christ returns
after the tribulation to become King of Kings and Prince of
Peace.
Using 360 day years with the most lenient date proposed for Pentecost,
34 AD, would have the 2000 year end in 2005 which has already passed.
Numbers, such as presented in Arithmetic of God,
can also give us much support and insight when properly applied.
For
example, as pointed out before, we are told over and over again in Revelation 20:2-7 that
the next age will be 1,000 years long. When something is
important, it
is stated over and over again. In this case the two words
"thousand
years" are stated six times in six consecutive verses in Revelation,
the sixty-sixth book of the Bible. No where else in the Bible is
there
a reference to a "thousand years" being the length of the next
age.
Why six? Because perhaps this brings to a close six thousand
years?
The seventh thousand is the seventh day millennial rest for the Earth.
Is it Biblical to compare the last thousand years with the last day of
the week, the day of rest? Well, the phrase "thousand years"
besides
the six previously cited, is found in only three other verses in the
Bible, and all three give us insight, some even explicitly in comparing
a thousand years with a day, two thousand years with two days, and all
seven thousand days leading up to eternity with the seven days of the
week:
For a thousand years in thy sight are
but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Psalms 90:4
Yea, though he live a thousand years
twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
Ecclesiastes 6:6
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this
one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day.
II Peter 3:8
The start of the "2 day" times of the Gentiles would be at the end of
the fourth day or four thousand years. Notice that the start of
this
time would be in 44 AD. Notice that the place in the Bible
describing
the beginning of this time is in Acts, the 44th book of the
Bible.
To me, finding these number patterns at this level which most people
can do with maybe a little help from a KJV
Bible Search tool,
is possibly as satisfying as Yacov Rambsel's pattern discoveries in the
Word of God based on knowing Hebrew, such as those presented in his
book, "Yeshua". As another example, the phrase "four days"
is found
exactly four times in the Bible and the fourth time it is found is in
Acts 10:30 which is in the midst of the verses in Acts describing the
start of the times of the Gentiles, (Acts 10:9-11:18).
